Andrew and Gary met in 1990 whilst working at the award winning hintlesham hall hotel near Ipswich where they both worked for six years. They then traveled around Australia for a year before returning to England.

Andrew worked in various establishments including Norwich City Football Club with Delia Smith before helping Ruth and David Watson to open The Crown and Castle in nearby Orford. He then went on to manage The Regatta here in Aldeburgh. On Gary's return from Australia he worked in some of the finest hotels in the UK including Hartwell House in Aylesbury, The Lygon Arms in Broadway and Hanbury Manor in Hertfordshire before teaming back up with Andrew in June 2003 to open their very own Restaurant 152 Aldeburgh
